Los Cabos, Mexico (August 27, 2026) - Pets are family—and at Mar del Cabo by Velas Resorts, they can now celebrate like it. The adults-only, Mediterranean-inspired resort overlooking the Sea of Cortez has introduced the Birthday Pawcation, a luxury birthday experience designed specifically for guests traveling with their dogs. From arrival to the final photo, the Birthday Pawcation gives four-legged guests their own celebratory itinerary, combining personalized amenities, seaside experiences and a private beachside birthday party. The experience begins at check-in with a welcome drink and a certificate-signing ceremony commemorating the occasion with the pet's paw print. 

Throughout the stay, a dedicated Dog Concierge helps coordinate the pet's experience. The guest's suite is prepared in advance with a bed and toys for the pet, along with house-made treats from the resort kitchen and a signature Mar del Cabo welcome amenity upon arrival. The centerpiece of the package is a decorated beachside picnic, set up exclusively for the guest and their pet. A chef-prepared cake made with pet-friendly ingredients - including peanut butter, oats, and organic apples - is presented during the picnic, followed by a 30-minute professional photoshoot. A 25-minute pet massage is also included.

Birthday Pawcation was created to bring the same sense of personalization, celebration and elevated hospitality that human guests experience at Mar del Cabo to the four-legged members of their families. Other pet-friendly experiences onsite include Pawsh Spa, a signature pet ritual featuring a Tibetan singing bowl and brush massage followed by shea butter and jade roller paw hydration; the Very Important Pets VIP Experience, a four-night retreat with in-suite grooming, a photoshoot, and handler-led beach walks; and the Pampered Pooch Package, a three-night Penthouse Suite offering that includes a chef-prepared pet menu and a sunset picnic
