The beaches of the Riviera Nayarit and Nuevo Vallarta are wide, soft, and have gentle waves for swimming. The beach at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is the perfect place for swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, snorkeling and diving in Banderas Bay. The hotels and resorts put up flags when it is not safe to swim, or if there are jellyfish in the water.
Enjoy global cuisine at 4 gourmet restaurants – Frida, Luca, Piaf and Sen Lin - and bars that are all part of the all-inclusive package at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. Whether you are in the mood for a beachfront dinner, creative Mexican and Italian fare, a cold beer while watching sports, or cocktails by the pool, take a bite of paradise with our all-inclusive dining concept. Our all-inclusive plan also offers in-suite dining and daily drinks and snacks in your minibar.
The best time of year to visit Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit is between April and June when the weather is perfect, rain is scarce, and it’s less crowded. Why? There are two main seasons in Riviera Nayarit. The rainy season from May through mid-October and the dry season from mid-October through April. During the rainy season, expect frequent showers typically in the late afternoon that cool down this Pacific coastline in the summer and give travelers a break from temperatures of 90ºF. If you're interested in whale watching trips, the best time to see these creatures is from January to March
Nueva Vallarta is 10.6 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, a 29-minute drive or taxi ride. Nueva Vallarta is more peaceful and upscale than PV and is known for its beautiful, softer sand beaches on Banderas bay. Further north along the Riviera Nayarit are the amazing beaches of Bucerías, La Manzanilla (La Cruz), Destiladeras, Anclote and Sayulita.
