Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (September 3, 2021) - Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta announces it has received the Punto Limpio ("Clean Point") V2020 quality seal from Mexico's Ministry of Tourism (Sectur). Additionally, the resort and sister property Casa Velas are the first hotels within the destination to successfully complete an inspection by the Mexican Accreditation Entity (EMA) for Distinctivo PARE (Epidemiological Risks Attention Protocol).

Developed in response to the health security needs of the COVID 19 pandemic, the Punto Limpio certification was bestowed on the hotel for its highest standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in addition to meticulous training in industry-recognized best practices. With the ultimate goal of protecting guests, employees and the community, Punto Limpio evaluates Manager Training, Hygienic Quality, Business Practices, Quality Assurance, and education. All areas of the hotel were assessed, from reception, the lobby, communal lounges and pools to accommodations, restaurants, fitness centers and spas.

Helping to verify and certify companies are complying with protocols implemented by both State and Federal authorities, Distintivo PARE aims to mitigate the risks and maximize the fight against COVID-19 and other epidemiological diseases. Generating confidence among workers, suppliers and guests, an audit of Velas Vallarta and Casa Velas was conducted of the facilities, cleaning and disinfection procedures, signage, supplies, spaces and more. Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta are the first hotels inspected in the destination to obtain such an important distinction.

In addition to the recent accreditations, Velas Vallarta holds the global safety stamp of approval from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) due to its state-of-the-art safety and cleanliness protocols detailed in a 15-page Stay Safe with Velas program. Sanitizing mats and booths, touchless hand sanitizing dispensers, increased cleaning and sanitation with both EPA-chemicals, and special COVID-19 training for staff are examples of protocols being implemented by the resort collection. Antigen and PCR testing are also available onsite or at a local hospital.
