New Collection Commissioned Specifically for the Hotel Group, Combines Fine Jewelry Craftsmanship With Personalized Astrological and Symbolic Design

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (June 1, 2026) - Velas Resorts Mexico launches an exclusive fine jewelry collection with acclaimed Mexican designer Elisa Gil. The alliance brings together two brands that share a commitment to personalization and high-end craftsmanship. 

Each piece in the "Written in the Stars" collection is anchored by the Lotus Flower, the signature emblem of Velas Resorts and a longstanding symbol of purity and new beginnings. The Lotus serves as the visual and conceptual base of every design, connecting the jewelry directly to the Velas identity. Each piece is set with the birthstone corresponding to the couple's wedding month, creating a direct and unique link to the date of their marriage. The use of birthstones references the idea that the couple's union was fated — hence the collection's name — while also ensuring that no two pieces are identical.

Pieces from the collection will be offered as a bespoke gift to the resort's wedding clients whose celebration exceeds $250,000 USD.  Serving as a lasting keepsake that commemorates the couple's celebration at the resort, the collection was designed to function as a meaningful extension of the wedding experience itself — a piece the couple takes home that connects directly to the date, setting, and significance of their union. Couples will be invited to choose their preferred design from within the collection's curated selection. In addition to the jewelry piece selected by the bride, the groom will receive a handcrafted money clip.  

Elisa Gil has been designing fine jewelry in Mexico since 2005, developing a body of work that draws consistently from Mexican craft traditions. Her designs frequently reference Oaxacan embroidery patterns and indigenous visual motifs, translating artisanal heritage into contemporary fine jewelry. This approach has earned her recognition both in Mexico and internationally, and her work has been exhibited at embassies and cultural institutions worldwide. A major milestone in her career came when Aeroméxico selected her work to represent Mexican design on more than 115 international routes, placing her pieces in front of a global audience as an example of contemporary Mexican craftsmanship. She has also developed exclusive pieces for major international brands including Porsche, Bentley, and Jaguar Land Rover. Among her internationally recognized projects is a commission for the Women's Empowerment Initiative in Dubai: a gold bracelet set with a central diamond, designed using Oaxacan embroidery as its visual source. The piece was created as a tribute to Mexican women artisans and presented on an international platform. Gil has also developed philanthropic projects in Mexico, including cause jewelry for foundations supported by prominent public figures, contributing to significant fundraising efforts. She has been named one of the 300 most influential leaders in Mexico by Líderes Mexicanos magazine, recognized as one of the top 50 women entrepreneurs of the year by Palmas de Oro, and featured by Mercedes-Benz through its She's Mercedes platform for her creative vision. Her work spans fine jewelry, limited editions, and fully custom commissions for private clients worldwide.
