Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (February 14, 2020) - Recognizing the growing demand for shorter, more concentrated experiences in the travel industry, Velas Resorts in Mexico is rolling out a new Micro-Cation Menu.  Available at all Velas properties in Puerto Vallarta, Cabo, and Cancun, the Micro-Cation menu offers travelers themed three-night vacations with curated itineraries. Born in 2019, a micro-cation, described as a leisure trip lasting four days or less, was taken by 57 percent of Americans with millennials at the forefront of the movement according to the Allianz Global Assistance. Each Velas resort offers its own themed micro-cation, featuring a variety of activities that cater to special interests such as food, wellness, culture, adventure and more. 

Culture: At Grand Velas Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen, travelers are immersed in ancient Mayan culture. Along with accommodation in the tranquil Zen ambiance surrounded by the Mayan jungle, the trip features a private shaman experience, special dinner of Mayan cuisine, Mayan-inspired activities and spa experiences such as the corn-based Bacal Massage, a special insuite amenity, roundtrip airport transportation, and more.

 

Casa Velas' highlights Puerto Vallarta's picturesque landscape and rich heritage, with inclusions such as a private tour to San Sebastian del Oeste, a colonial Mexican town in Jalisco with charming architecture and cobblestone streets. Also included is a traditional Mexican cooking class and a tequila tasting with a diverse selection sourced from all over the country.  

 

Wellness: Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit's Wellness micro-cation provides multiple health and fitness-focused offerings to cater to every traveler's self-care needs. Included in the trip is a private life-coaching class based on ancestral healing techniques with the resort's onsite shaman, exercise workshops such as Antigravity Yoga and AquaForza, an Aromatherapy Spa Atelier workshop and Mole Massage at the acclaimed SE Spa.
