Riviera Maya, Mexico (July 11, 2023) - Solo travelers can now indulge in premium spa treatments, bike tours, daily in-suite amenities, gastronomic tastings, swimming with sea turtles, and even a dive down into a cenote all while benefiting from no single supplement at the luxury Grand Velas Riviera Maya. The hotel's new program for solo travelers is designed to allow guests to immerse into the excitement of Mexican culture while creating connections with locals in a curated environment. At the resort, solo travelers can experience onsite activities such as Mexican ancestral spirit tastings, biking, pilates, yoga, premium honey tastings from the local Maya Melipona Bee in the hotel's new Melionario bee sanctuary, and more. Also included is an 80-minute Bacal Massage, a locally inspired treatment at the resort's award winning spa that utilizes one of the Mayan's most sacred plants, corn. Prior to the treatment, guests can indulge in the resort's water ceremony,  a seven-step water journey featuring a eucalyptus-scented steam room with chromotherapy, polar pool, aromatherapy sensory shower, sauna, jacuzzi, and multi-sensory pool. 

 

The new solo traveler offering also includes a day tour to visit the destination's cenotes, sea turtles, and an exclusive beach club. During the day tour, travelers head south to Tulum where they will start off in one of the region's magnificent Mayan cenotes to explore the underground natural pools of crystal-clear waters and rock formations. From there they will head to the nature reserve of Akumal, one of the only spots where one can swim with sea turtles in the region. The area's natural beauty and abundant marine life provides the perfect environment for some of the best snorkeling. To finish the day trip, solo travelers will have access to the exclusive beach hideaway Punta Venado Beach Club. Here they can enjoy a savory lunch while having the opportunity to connect with others while relaxing. 

 

After days filled with activities, daily amenities are also included to allow solo travelers to unwind in their suite. The extra large Jacuzzi bathtub will be filled with scented salts to accompany a daily nightly turndown amenity. The first night guests will be greeted with a cheese plate of rich Mexican cheeses, the second night they will receive chocolate covered strawberries, and finally on the third night a Mexican candy basket. 

The starting rate for the Solo Travel Getaway is $1,289 USD per person per night based on single occupancy including accommodations in a Grand Class King Suite. A three night minimum applies.
