Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (May 5, 2026) - Today, where screens compete for every spare moment, Grand Velas Resorts in Riviera Maya and Riviera Nayarit have revamped their dedicated digital detox experiences. The programs go well beyond putting the phone in a drawer. These are intentional, curated journeys designed to replace scrolling with presence, and notifications with nature.

The new Digital Reset Journey at Grand Velas Riviera Maya is built around personal intention rather than enforced restriction. From arrival, guests are met by a dedicated Reset Concierge who helps them define their own relationship with technology for the duration of their stay, whether that means checking in occasionally or locking devices away entirely. Guests who wish to go fully analog may hand over their phones, tablets, and other devices to reception at check-in. Devices are stored in a designated Device Lockbox secured by two keys, one held by the guest and one by reception, to be returned at checkout. An incense kit and room spray from Aromaria, Mexico's premier luxury fragrance brand with an onsite boutique, sets the tone for a more mindful stay. In lieu of screen time, a full program of analog experiences is on offer: 

• Mindful Painting Session to create a "Digital Reset" sign to place at their chaise lounge or dining table as an invitation for fellow guests to strike up real conversation. Ideas for verbiage will be provided, like, "My phone is resting. I'm not — feel free to chat."
• Polaroid Memory Walk through jungle pathways, capturing stillness one frame at a time

Built for families and couples alike, the program replaces digital habits with hands-on, human-centered ones from the moment guests arrive. The experience begins before guests even reach the resort with private airport transfers to set a tone of calm and privacy. Upon arrival at Grand Velas, a 60-minute Smudging Workshop is an ancestral energy cleansing. The Energy Harmonization creates a profound sense of peace and balance by letting go of the old and welcoming the new, allowing vital energy to flow freely. After the guided introspective meditation, guests leave with a handcrafted smudging kit for home. Smartphones, laptops, tablets, and gaming consoles are then handed to the concierge and stored securely for as long as guests choose.
